Strategic Planning

1.    Share what you had expected to learn about the topic before the class.

a.    I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect.  I thought we would discuss perhaps how a company like IHC, or MountainStar expands their company into neighboring areas.

2.    What you actually learned from the unit.

a.    The exercise we did in groups was really fun.  It is good to be creative and think of ways to grow by thinking outside the box.  Thinking of marketing and funding and how hospitals grow and expand was an interesting exercise.

b.   The part I really enjoyed of our last class though was the guest speaker.  I am seriously considering continuing my education, and she was wonderful to answer questions and give us the benefits of education.  Plus she was really sweet.  It was a pleasure to listen to her. (Not that you and Troy are not… J)

3.   How you will utilize the information learned in your nursing practice.

a.    I plan to further my education, especially after the benefits she discussed.  This will GREATLY affect my nursing practice.  It will (hopefully) open me up to new opportunities and make me a better nurse.

4.    Your personal feelings about the material covered.

a.    Like I said the lecture was awesome.  I really enjoyed it!
